Roadmap to Joy

When I remodeled my kitchen a few years ago, I had one wall at the end of my corridor kitchen which needed a focal point, a piece of artwork, but I wasn't able to find what felt right for the space and the wall remained empty for months. Although I wasn't sure what I wanted, I had confidence that I would know it when I saw it.

Over the holidays, my daughter came home from college in Minnesota and brought a brochure of Eyenga’s work, as she had the opportunity to meet her. I looked at the brochure and knew I had found “it”! When I saw the name of the piece I especially liked for the space - "Roadmap to Joy” - I was absolutely delighted as both the painting and its title captured exactly the spirit I was looking for in my home!

I contacted Eyenga, and her painting made its way from Minneapolis to my Seattle kitchen wall where it has lived up to its name. As friends and family enter our kitchen, their eyes light on the painting, and it is indeed warm, welcoming and infectious! I so appreciated finding Eyenga, and being able to enjoy her artwork in my home. It is magic! Every morning when I come into the kitchen, I feel simple joy being able to greet my day with "Roadmap to Joy"!

Optimism invoked

“Eyenga's work brings us an incredible amount of joy. We fell in love with these two pieces right away. They reminded us of our walks through the Blue City of Jodhpur. We enjoy pops of color in our home, and we wanted something cheerful to look at when the dreary weather keeps us indoors

We still sit on the couch across from the paintings and stare at them, soaking in the memories and optimism they invoke! When it came to purchasing and framing the pieces, Eyenga made bold, unorthodox suggestions that ended up being perfect.

She made the process of bringing her art into our home fun and entirely ours. These weren't our first Eyenga Bokamba original works, and they won't be our last!”

Illumination

Eyenga’s art is a bright spot in my house; a focal point not just for the eye, but for the mind. Every time I look at it I see something different and new.

connection

‘I love living with Eyenga’s work in my apartment in London. It’s a striking piece that friends always comment on and I find something new to see in it every day. I’m still finding new shapes, images and joy in it nearly 5 years later. It looks at home in my green living room and I love having something that I know no one else in the world has.

Even better, the piece reminds me of my good friend who introduced me to Eyenga’s work. I don’t see her much - Minneapolis to London is not easy - but I feel connected to her through the piece. She has a painting from the same series on her wall, so I know we’re connected in that way. I look forward to visiting Eyenga’s studio again when I make it back to Minneapolis.’
