Let’s Talk (2020)
Has it really been ten years since the last Foot in the Door? Amazingly, here we are, in 2020, on the cusp of the opening of one of the most amazing shows in the world, noticeably transformative in the public space it holds for creatives all over the state of Minnesota, and for the affirmative space it holds for living artists by recognizing our working lives, offering a snapshot of our creative endeavors in increments of decades.
It is an incredible honor to submit this piece, Let’s Talk (2020). I chose this to represent my decade of painting because what a decade it’s been! This painting is part of my silk sculpture in Venice entitled Moments of Beauty, Reframed, Create a Blueprint for Thriving/If We Just Learn to Pivot (2019).
This past decade led me to creative partnerships locally, regionally, nationally and internationally…Minneapolis. Austin, St. Cloud, Duluth, New York City, Pennabilli, Venice, the Italian Alps: all the places my paintings have gone. All the places my paintings took! Truly, this show is a celebration of life itself. I’m honored to participate. I’m hopeful for many more.
